Richmond Leg Breakers Cricket Club

Thanks to everyone who took part in the annual ten pin competition at the Bloomsbury Lanes on Friday night. It was a successful evening and as usual gave the batsmen an opportunity to show up the bowlers.

Predictably the early start meant that we were a few short for a while and at one stage it seemed that the best way to get a strike was not to be there and to let someone else do it for you. The smart money was on Will's late arrival being down to his baby's own early arrival but in fact he'd stopped off for what might be his last after work drink for a while.

Compared to previous years, it was low scoring night but this had the benefit of keeping things competitive right to the end with the result coming down to the last ball. There were good performances from Emily, Steve, Nigel and Kelly and an entertaining display from Will Kingpin who tried to score a century off 6 balls but fell just short and ended up in the gutter.

Great to see you all and good to see Ben Burns come for a drink after the game. Look forward to seeing him at a few games during the season.

Finally, thanks to Chappo for organising the event and Emily for helping out on the night.

Just a reminder that there are only five nets left after Tuesday. Be there before you get on the square!
