Richmond Leg Breakers Cricket Club

Breakers

The sun's out and it's Easter next week. Time to see if you still fit into those elasticated cricket trousers that you last wore in August as the new season is fast approaching.

The winter nets have been well attended (although we might not be bowling quite so many bouncers when we get outside) and for those of you who want some last minute practice, there are still 2 nets left after Monday, on 20 and 27 April. Please let Emily know if you want a place.

I'm pleased to report that we have a pretty full fixture list which at the moment looks as follows:

26 April Locksbottom
17 May Barnes Away
31 May Tabard Away (Tiffin)
7 June International Rescue Away
14 June Denham 2nd XI Away
21 June Broken Stumps Home
5 July Olinda Vandals Away
Tour 17-19 July
02 Aug Int Rescue Home
09 Aug tbc Home
06 Sept Barnes Away

Locksbottom. Not a pupil at Hogwarts but a cricket club based in Orpington. This is a new fixture for us and you can go to their website for more information (www.locksbottomcc.co.uk)

We would like to go to the conference for a game on 19 April if there is sufficient interest so please could you reply to this email by return confirming your availability for both 19 and 26 April and copy Mark Southey in as I am away this week.

I can confirm that the pre-season bowling will take place at Bloomsbury Bowl on 17 April and if you're not down to play already and want to come along, please email Emily. It should be fun but we may have to handicap the President this year to have fair contest.

And for those who like to get their diary sorted out really early, we have booked the Bleeding Heart again for the end of season dinner on Friday 13 November.

Finally, thanks to all the Committee who have been doing their bit over the winter.

Have a fantastic season Breakers.

Regards

Andy
Club Captain
